Coquitlam RCMP wants to identify the suspect of an alleged, unprovoked assault that occurred last month involving a woman on a mobility scooter..Releasing details of the reported February incident this week, Coquitlam RCMP says its frontline officers responded to Glen Park, located at 1149 Westwood St. at 7:50 p.m. on February 23 after a man attempted to pull a woman off her mobility scooter and into nearby woods..Police say the woman had been travelling on Lincoln Ave. when an unknown man emerged from a wooded area and said, “come here,” before grabbing her around the waist and attempting to pull her off the scooter..“When the suspect was unsuccessful, he ran back into the woods,” police said, describing the suspect as a man with an Asian accent wearing a dark, puffy jacket with jeans, white shoes, and a grey, wide-brimmed baseball hat..The victim did not sustain any injuries..“These types of assaults are very concerning to the police and the public,” said Coquitlam RCMP’s Cpl. Alexa Hodgins..“Police are asking for the public’s assistance in gathering further information including additional witnesses and dash cam or cellphone footage.”
