A New York Times (NYT) science writer, Azeen Ghorayshi, wrote a story about people regretting their transgender surgeries and the left attacked him for writing the story, and the NYT for publishing it..Ghorayshi wrote the story to show the number of transgender operations being performed on adolescents..“I wrote about transgender adolescents getting top surgery — how frequently it’s really happening, why, and what the risks may be,” said Ghorayshi's tweet..Ghorayshi said “there are few honest conversations” happening around adolescents having transgender surgeries on both the left and right sides of the political spectrum..“A big reason I wrote this story is bc [because] there are few honest conversations about surgery for trans adolescents happening right now. Conservatives fixate on ‘genital mutilation.’ on the left, activists have claimed surgeries don’t happen.
