Looks like there’s some cops in Lethbridge that haven’t been to the movies in, oh, 40 or so years..A Star Wars-theme promotion ended badly Monday when armed cops took down a Stormtrooper – hard..The incident happened, suitably, on May the Fourth when the owner of a Lethbridge restaurant called Coco Vanilla Galactic Cantina decided a dancing Stormtrooper in the parking lot would be a good way to attract business..But as the female staffer danced around the lot in full regalia, gun-toting Lethbridge cops arrived and told her to eat concrete..“Apparently a couple of people had called 911 and said that there was somebody with a gun on 13 Street North,” Brad Whalen, the restaurant’s owner told CTV.. “A number of police officers had shown up to our business with guns drawn on our employee.”.Police didn’t use kids’ gloves on the follower of Darth Vader and by the time the woman was tackled to the ground and cuffed, she suffered a bloody nose..“The officers approached the person and provided verbal directions to that person to drop the weapon, to put themselves on to the ground,” Insp.
