The Liberal government is ramping up their plans to bring in gun control after the Nova Scotia massacre – without even know what type of weapons were used.
Both Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Safety Minister Bill Blair have promised swift action on gun control as soon as Parliament is able to resume sitting after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gabriel Wortman shot and killed at least 22 people over the weekend in Nova Scotia.

The RCMP have not said whether the guns used were classified as prohibited, restricted or non-restricted, and whether Wortman had a firearms possession licence.
But that hasn’t stopped Blair or Trudeau from jumping on the anti-gun bandwagon.
Trudeau said his government was “on the verge” of introducing the legislation when Parliament was suspended in March.
“We have every intention of moving forward on that measure and potentially other measures when the Parliament returns,” he said at a press conference.
Both Trudeau and Blair have said they don’t know what type of guns where involved.
“So I don’t want to jump to conclusions or make characterizations about what happen until we get a full accounting from the authorities,” said Trudeau
Blair has said the “military-style” rifle ban will come in the “near term,” and added gun ownership is a privilege, not a right.
Blair has said said a government “buy-back” plan for those type of guns already out there would need more time to sort out. The Liberal’s have said they plan on spending up to $250 million buying back the now-legal weapons but critics argue that is woefully inadequate.
While Blair has said a ban on “assault rifles” and “military-style” guns would be coming soon, he added other measure’s in the government’s gun crackdown would be brought into Parliament in stages.
Blair said a planned partial handgun ban will require negotiations with the provinces.
During the October election campaign, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau campaigned on a promise to ban “military-style assault weapons” and allow municipalities to ban handguns.
