Hoping the public will be able to help identify a suspect, the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) released footage of a man who allegedly pushed a stranger down a flight of stairs..On March 1, just before 5:30 p.m., a 61-year-old man had a “brief interaction” outside the Granville Street SkyTrain station with two men, one of whom followed the victim into the station and shoved him down a flight of stairs..The suspect then proceeded to kick the man while he was laying on the ground until a passerby intervened..VPD describes the suspect as an indigenous man in his 40’s with short black hair and a slim build. He was wearing a white shirt, dark blue jeans, black running shoes and a red, white and blue baseball cap..Police say the victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics..The suspect fled the area before police arrived..Vancouver has seen a significant increase of “random attacks” recently, including a woman who was stabbed with a hypodermic needle last week..Similarly, another woman was stabbed with a hypodermic needle in October while leaving a coffee shop.
