Call it signs of our time..When the coronavirus crisis took a chunk out of the vinyl signage company, owners Lorrie and Kelly Brosoky looked at what they could do keep keep spirits up for their neighbours in Leduc..The result was two, and counting, humorous signs outside of their Urban Vinyl Signage outlet in Leduc..One is of the wildly-popular Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health. She has obtained almost a cult-like following with her daily Covid-19 updates..The sign features a large drawing of Hinshaw on the periodic table with the words: “Stay safe Leduc we are in this together – even if we are far apart.”. signLeduc sign .A second sign has a more political flavour..It’s a pictures of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau with the words: “Speaking mositly, wash your hands.” It makes fun of a gaffe Trudeau made last week while talking to reporters.. sign2-2Leduc sign .“They were just the hot topics of the week, it’s not meant to be political,” said Kelley, as the couple’s children did their homework in the background..“We just wanted to have some fun, we all need a smile right now,” said Kelly..Lorrie said the signs were made trying to lift the spirits of their neighbours..“We were just looking at ways to help the community – and came up with drive-by smiles,” she said..As for next week’s sign, Lorrie promises a “really good one.” So stay tuned or drive by..Dave Naylor is the News Editor of the Western Standard.dnaylor@westewrnstandardonline.com.TWITTER: Twitter.com/nobby7694
