COOPER: One step closer to independence

We are one step closer to independence.First, consider the issues. Our erstwhile fellow citizens voted for carbon taxes, just on imports for the present. But, when the planet is threatened by so much plant food, how long can that last?Internal combustion engines in cars will be gone within a decade, the Carnivores say. The plague at last will be over and we can rejoice.The Liberals promise to do nothing to keep thugs and repeat thugs off the mean streets of Kerrisdale and Elbow Park. They have compassion, you see, for thugs.Natural mineral resources, especially oil and gas, will be left in the ground where they belong. Regulations will ensure that applies to the rare earth minerals of northern Ontario as well. After all, they didn’t vote Liberal.Social media will once again be properly regulated in order to obliterate the menace of disinformation. Or is it misinformation?.Fortunately, the legacy media, and especially our beloved national broadcaster, where we tell stories about ourselves to each other, will have even more taxpayer support. That will put the independent media back in the shadows where they can appeal to the extreme right-wing fanatics as much as they like. At least for a while, until it is necessary to extinguish them.And immigration will continue at current levels so we can avoid the stigmas associated with racism. Also to avoid the stigma of racism, there were no — zero — credible instances of election interference from China or anyone else. Except for Donald Trump, whom it is always okay to criticize. No one seems to be able to explain how about a hundred candidates ran against Pierre Poilievre in his Ottawa riding of Carleton. No election interference here. It happens all the time. Move along.The secret that explains how it all happened is the incredible personal charisma of Mark Carney. He was able to plagiarize Poilievre and the Conservative platform with the same smooth success as he plagiarized his PhD thesis at the formerly great university of Oxford. There is the mark of a true leader such as former President Biden, who had equal success in the plagiarism department. In Tuesday’s National Post, Carson Jerema called it Carney’s aversion to the truth. Whatever, it worked..Carney had help from both Doug Ford and Donald Trump, a pair of powerful second-row forwards in the mighty Liberal scrum. Ford, playing as Captain Laurentia, was joined at the hip to the American president. They pretended to disagree, the key to their successful troll of GTA voters.George Koch explained to readers ofC2C magazine that Carney was also a Manchurian Candidate. The term refers to a politician who is really and secretly working for an enemy, usually a foreign power.Some might think Koch wrote a parody or even a satire, but no. Arguably, Carney was an agent of Alberta independence and the wrecking of repressive Canada, something that President Trump has pointed out for weeks in his jokes about Canada becoming the 51st state. That’s hilarious. The Americans would never want Quebec or New Brunswick!.But seriously, how could Mark Carney really have been in favour of Alberta independence? Was he really an intentional saboteur? Koch said we have to take his “I grew up in Alberta” claims seriously. That means that all his anti-Alberta policies aimed at destroying the Alberta economy and eventually the Canadian economy were so destructively stupid that their purpose was simply to make Danielle Smith’s job easier. That’s why he said such ungentlemanly things about her. His promise of continued misgovernment of the country, from sucking up to the PRC to $225 billion in new federal deficits to unending support of the net-zero silliness, sealed the Canada dissolution deal, and out we go!Others might say that it takes too much imagination to think that Carney was trying to destroy Canada. Maybe so, but one could hardly imagine a more effective way to go about it than electing his party to govern. One way or another, Albertans seeking independence need to thank him, just as Preston Manning warned a week or so ago in the Globe and Mail when he contemplated what a Carney Liberal win would mean.The next step will be for Alberta to increase its permanent representation in Washington. Whether we become an independent republic or a 51st state, American support is necessary.The appeal to Albertans is clear enough. Prosperity and liberty are, of course, positive goals and widely supported. Contemplating the decline of Laurentia into third-world status has its own additional appeal.Thanks, Mark!
