RE: KRAYDEN: Phony polls, left-wing media continue to dismiss Poilievre.I disagree with much of the author’s contentions..I don’t believe that the concerns about Poilievre’s potential leadership of the CPC have anything to do with “phony polls” or “Red Tories”, but rather his electability in the Liberal strongholds of.Toronto, Vancouver & Montreal..I spent years volunteering with CPC ridings in Toronto & Montreal, and I know for a fact that Poilievre’s message of gun rights, embracing the illegal truckers blockade, lamenting the toppling of racist statues, having a spotty past voting record on abortion rights, and being accused of dog whistling the far-right with his “Anglo-Saxon words” comment, will be received badly in Toronto, Vancouver & Montreal where a majority of the population are now people of colour and foreign born. He will also be rejected by the lion’s share of nominal CPC voters in these metropolitan areas..The rightwing populist shtick may work in sparsely populated Western Canada, but not in the seat rich areas of urban Canada needed to topple the Trudeau Liberals..Trudeau is surely salivating over the prospect of Poilievre being the next CPC leader. .Gila Kibner.Edmonton, Alberta
