One person is dead after he tried to save the family dog from drowning while fishing at Spray Lakes..On Sunday evening around 7 p.m., Canmore RCMP were dispatched to a report of a drowning at Spray Lakes within the Spray Valley Provincial Park.."An adult male from Calgary was fishing with family members when their dog jumped from the boat," Cpl. Gina Slaney said.."The male attempted to retrieve the dog by jumping in as well. A short time later, the male and dog submerged and did not resurface.".Kananaskis Emergency Services, Alberta Conservation Officers, Canmore Fire Rescue, Alberta Fish and Wildlife Officer and the RCMP responded to the area to search for the drowning victims.."RCMP are continuing search efforts," Slaney said..Adequate resources are currently in place for the search operation.
