A political movement advocating for Alberta to become the fifty-first American state has launched a new campaign across the province's major highways, in an effort to reshape Alberta's political future.

The America Fund is putting up billboards on major highways, along with a digital campaign.

The campaign specifically targets Premier Danielle Smith and calls for constitutional conventions to address government policies affecting Alberta.

"If everything's on the table, then becoming the fifty-first state is also on the table," said Director of Fund Development Peter Downing, referencing recent discussions about federal export tariffs and potential energy bans on Alberta oil.

The initiative, funded by what Downing describes as "Alberta Patriots," including oilmen, farmers, and small business owners, plans to expand its message beyond provincial borders.

Additional advertising campaigns are being prepared for launch in Washington, D.C., and Mar-a-Lago directly addressing former U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to Downing, the campaign responds to federal government policies that he argues have negatively impacted Alberta's energy sector.

Downing, a former RCMP officer who moved to Alberta in 2005, believes the province's values align more closely with American states like Texas and North Dakota, particularly regarding government intervention and resource development.

The billboards, combining both digital displays and 52-foot trailer installations, will be strategically positioned to reach travelers entering Calgary from Saskatchewan and along other key transportation corridors throughout the province.
