A Calgary bar manager has been charged with sexual assault following two separate incidents involving a job applicant and an employee earlier this year, police say.The first incident happened in January 2025 during a job interview at Fire N Ice, a bar on 16 Avenue S.W. Police allege the manager touched the applicant inappropriately without her consent and temporarily kept her from leaving. She later contacted police.A second woman reported being assaulted in April 2025 after encountering the same manager while out with friends at a downtown bar. According to investigators, the manager used his position of authority to touch her inappropriately without consent. The woman said the group later went to a nearby residence, where the manager continued the unwanted contact and sexually assaulted her. She reported the incident the following day..Ankit Drall, 31, of Calgary, has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of unlawful confinement. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 4.“I want to thank the victims who came forward,” said Staff Sgt. Paul Ralstin with the Calgary Police Service. “Sexual contact is never acceptable without clear, voluntary, and specific consent.”Police remind the public that there is no time limit for reporting sexual assault in Canada.
