After repeated denials and cancellations across Canada, a planned “Let Us Worship” concert by Christian artist Sean Feucht will go ahead at the Alberta Legislature grounds on August 22.

It will be the only the second date on his Canadian tour not cancelled, as the Saskatoon event on August 21 will currently go head.

The first six stops were cancelled and organizers found alternate venues each time on the Eastern part of his tour.

The Alberta event is free and part of Feucht’s cross-country “Let Us Worship” tour.

“It is good to see a government respect Canadians’ freedom of expression and allow this free concert to go forward,” said lawyer Marty Moore (@CanConLaw), who is working with the event organizers.

“Politicians and policymakers need to uphold fundamental freedoms, including when doing so is deemed controversial. Those who fail to do so should be challenged legally and politically. Our legal team continues to work with the organizers to defend Canadians’ constitutional rights, including at the planned concerts being organized in other Western Canadian cities.”

Moore said his team continues to coordinate legal support for the four other Western Canada events.

The announcement marks a shift after weeks of uncertainty for Feucht’s remaining concerts on the Western part of the tour.

Organizers said the concert at the legislature grounds will proceed as planned, with further tour details to come.
