The City of Edmonton said the Phase One parking ban it implemented due to the snow lifted on Thursday at 7 a.m. for major roads. This parking ban was required for less than four days as the City of Edmonton and contractor crews cleared snow and ice accumulation from arterial roads, collector roads, bus routes, active pathways and roads within business improvement areas, according to a Wednesday press release. The City of Edmonton said ongoing maintenance and the application of traction materials would continue as required.At this time, it said it was not activating a Phase Two parking ban for residential and industrial roads. Additionally, it noted crews continue to work 24 hours per day to address additional snow accumulation and traction concerns as they maintain more than 12,000 kilometres of roadways and 500 kilometres of active pathways. It encouraged residents to report winter road concerns through 311. This helps it to identify trends, co-ordinate responses, and ensure the most efficient service delivery.
