The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has peacefully ended what they are calling a “high-risk incident.”.On Thursday afternoon, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the LPS responded to a report of an armed female inside Lethbridge Legal Guidance along the 400 block of 5 Street South..A female employee was taken hostage and sustained life-threatening injuries. At approximately 3:00 p.m., members of the Critical Incident Team entered the building and the 40-year-old subject was taken into custody..The LPS continue to investigate the incident. The employee, a 54-year-old woman, sustained life-threatening injuries after she was taken hostage at a law office earlier this afternoon..The victim remains in hospital in serious but stable condition. .Police are no longer on scene but the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.."No further information will be released tonight," the LPS stated.
