Nenshi thanks Trudeau for service

Alberta NDP leader Naheed Nenshi has risen to defend Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in the aftermath of Trudeau's resignation.

"On a day when everyone is all about politics and positioning themselves for what happens next, it’s easy to forget that it’s also about human beings," Nenshi said in a statement posted to X.

"Public service can be hard and I’m grateful for all who make the choice to serve, regardless of political stripe. Thank you to the Prime Minister for his years of service."

"Alberta needs to work with whatever and whoever comes next, to reduce the cost of living, to create and sustain great jobs and to preserve and build great healthcare and education," Nenshi added.
