The story had been updated to reflect this change. .A float at the Sundre Pro Rodeo in this weekend's parade possessed a controversial theme which organizers say they did not approve..The parade was held in the town of Sundre on Saturday morning located approximately 90 kilometres northwest of Calgary..The float consisted of a tractor pulling an individual in a fake beard dressed in a turban and a suit. it also displayed a message on the side of the trailer "the Liberal.".The people behind the float said the driver was dressed as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau while another volunteer, dressed as NDP leader Jagmeet Singh, sat on the back of it. They said it was meant to be political satire.."First and foremost. The Sundre Pro Rodeo does not approve the floats for the parade," the Sundre Pro Rodeo stated on Twitter shortly after it was posted online.."That is entirely up to the parade committee! If we knew about the float, we would never have of approved it. We do send out deepest apologies and something like that will never happen again.".A day later organizers said on social media it appears the float entered the parade during the route without permission. ."The entry was not approved and, upon further investigation, joined the parade without passing through any registration," the committee wrote in a statement that was posted on the Sundre Pro Rodeo's Facebook page..However, social media posts online indicate that the float was going to be entered in the parade and users online are suggesting the organization is just trying to cover their tracks with the statement.."Oh they knew about it, and knew it was always going to be racist," one Twitter user stated while posting a picture of the float that was posted online on May 26..The post was looking for someone with a antique tractor to pull "The Liberal" float in the parade. The picture was posted to the account of B. Lynne Hoff on May 26..Federal Conservative Shadow Minister for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship MP Jasraj Singh Hallan said on Twitter, "this is absolutely disgusting."."These kinds of acts have no place in Canada. This should be condemned in strongest terms by all.".Parade organizers say it will never happen again.
