A tour bus operator faces charges following a fatal rollover at Jasper’s Columbia Icefield..Brewster Inc. has been charged with eight counts under Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act, according to a Government of Alberta news release..The charges are related to use and maintenance of seatbelts, failing to control hazards, and failing to ensure equipment was in safe operating condition..On July 18, 2020, an ice explorer vehicle with 25 people on board left a road and rolled down an embankment on the Athabasca Glacier in Jasper National Park. The rollover killed three passengers and injured numerous others, including the vehicle’s driver..The charges are yet to be proven in court. The matter is scheduled for June 23 in Jasper provincial court..Alberta RCMP’s investigation of the incident has concluded and is in the review process. The RCMP will provide an update to the victims and families when further information is available.
