Two teens, aged 13 and 14, have been charged following an assault on a woman at John Peake Memorial Park in Chestermere, Alberta, on Canada Day.The incident, reported at 6:45 p.m., involved a group of 10 to 15 youths, aged 13 to 15, who swarmed the victim.The woman sustained moderate, non-life-threatening injuries and was released from the hospital two days later.“RCMP members attended and, through an investigation, arrested two young offenders,” Chestermere police said in a statement..One teen faces a single assault charge, while the other is charged with assault and uttering threats.The RCMP is reviewing CCTV footage to identify additional suspects, as more individuals may have been involved.Police believe the attack was random, with no known connection between the victim and the assailants.They are also investigating the possibility of other victims.Anyone with information is asked to contact Chestermere RCMP at 403-204-8900 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.The investigation remains ongoing.
