Ex-NHLer Ryan Whitney, while travelling from Edmonton to Boston, NY, had a pitstop in Toronto and shared the travel hell he experienced in Canada for more than half a day. .Whitney, an American former professional hockey player, played in Edmonton from 2009 to 2013 and was in Alberta's capital to catch Game 3 against the Colorado Avalanche, which the Oilers lost four to two. .Whitney started his Twitter posts at 6 p.m. Sunday night from Pearson International airport in Toronto asking "Is anyone working at Pearson airport" and called it "the biggest gong show in airport history." .Half an hour later, he tweeted again saying "I have never seen a crazier scenario at an airport." ."Pearson has about 100 cancelled flights and hundreds of people in line with one [Air] Canada worker at the end," he said. ."There can't be more than 5 people working here. I'm gonna have a viral meltdown this is not good." .Just after 9 p.m., Whitney tweeted, "Pearson airport is hell on earth" and included a video of the lineup at customs.."The worst of the worst. This is customs line to re-enter Canada after I went through US customs 7 hours ago." .Following that, he tweeted again within 15 minutes and simply included an image of the Tom Hank's 2004 movie The Terminal inspired by a real-life character, Merhas Nasseri, who ended up in "diplomatic limbo" trapped in terminal one of Paris Charles De Gaulle airport for 15 years as a stateless refugee. .Whitney, many hours later, tweeted again at just after 7 a.m. Monday morning admitting, "I smell so bad." ."I live at Toronto Pearson International airport," he said in the tweet, adding, "The worst place on earth." .Whitney included a video explaining his ordeal including several cancelled flights and six-hour lineups. ."I'm so in shock at this place. It is the biggest disgrace known to man," he said in the video. .Just after 11 a.m. Whitney tweeted again and included another video. ."It's over." he tweeted. ."I want to thank everyone for their Ts and Ps and the amazing chiclets listeners who reached out to help. Best fans on earth." ."The exact opposite of Pearson International Airport. God bless anyone who ever has to setp foot in that hellhole." .In the video, Whitney jubilantly boards his flight. ."Boston, never been happier to see you," he said in the video post.
