It's good to remember, particularly around Christmas, that Alberta is much more than political fights with Ottawa and economic wrangling.

We have world-class art performed by great people. From Lethbridge, to Rosebud, to Banff, to Calgary, to Edmonton, to Fort MCMurray.

This year, I was happy to attend Handel's Messiah at the Winspear Centre in Edmonton.

Handel's sacred work, composed in 1741, put everyone in the holiday mood with its fantastic arias, recitatives, and amazing choral sections, including the famous "Hallelujah" chorus.

The 2.5 hour performance was conducted by Timothy Shantz and featured the Richard Eaton Singers and the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.

Upcoming performances at the Winspear Centre.
