Industry Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne will share his intentions for the Liberal leadership race on Tuesday.
If Champagne runs for the Liberal leader, he would be the first and most likely the only candidate from Quebec.
Two other contenders, Ontario MP Chandra Arya and former Montreal MP Frank Baylis, have already declared their leadership bids.
Former finance minister Chrystia Freeland is expected to join the race in the next few days.
Former Bank of Canada governor Mark Carney and former B.C. premier Christy Clark are expected to announce shortly.
Heritage Minister Pascale St Onge said the next Liberal leader must speak fluent French and English, and be committed to funding the CBC and Radio-Canada.
