ANOTHER LIE: Carney...

Jen Hodgson

Liberal leader Mark Carney has been caught in another lie, this time about a rock song his minor hockey team warmed up to in the 70s.

Carney has been entering his campaign events to the song Thunderstruck by AC/DC — which came out on September 10, 1990.

Global News reporter Mackenzie Gray posted a video of Carney walking into a press conference at Martinrea in Vaughan, ON, with Thunderstruck playing.

“He walked out to ‘Thunderstruck’ by AC/DC, which Carney said was his ‘warm-up tune’ when he played minor hockey,” wrote Gray in the caption.

CTV News reporter Judy Trinh also posted a video of the same event, with the caption, “AC/DC Thunderstruck was Carney’s warm-up song when he played hockey.”

Carney, born on March 16, 1965, was 25 years old at the time of the song’s release.

Minor hockey ranges from ages five to 17. Carney did indeed play minor hockey, but that would have been in the ‘70s and early ‘80s. He also played college hockey into his mid-twenties.
