The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has issued a public warning regarding the release of convicted sex offender Robert Edward Ventress, 55, who will be residing in Edmonton.
Authorities believe Ventress is likely to reoffend while in the community.
Ventress was in custody since 2024 and served his sentence for failing to comply with a Probation Order.
He remains subject to a court order with multiple conditions and will be monitored by the EPS Behavioural Assessment Unit.
Due to his history of sexual offences, child pornography, and repeated violations of court-ordered conditions, police consider Ventress to be a significant risk to the community, particularly to children he may access through adult relationships.
EPS last issued a warning about Ventress in 2015.
EPS urges the public to remain cautious and report any concerns about Ventress’ conduct to 780-423-4567.
Authorities emphasize that this information is released to help citizens take necessary precautions and is not meant to incite vigilante action.
Ventress is described as 6-ft.,, 170 lbs, with green eyes and grey/brown hair.
