Edmonton police have charged a 32-year-old high school teacher with multiple sexual offences following allegations involving a female youth.
According to the Edmonton Police Service (EPS), authorities were notified on Feb. 8, that a female youth had been sexually assaulted by a 32-year-old male on multiple occasions between February 2024 and January 2025.
While the accused was employed as a high school teacher during this period, police confirmed that the victim was not a student at his school.
On Thursday, Dylan James Shott, 32, was arrested and charged with luring of a child, sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching, and sexual interference.
Shott has been released with several conditions, including a prohibition on contacting or communicating with anyone under 16 years old, attending public swimming areas, schools, daycares, playgrounds, youth shelters, or public libraries, and accessing dating sites on the internet.
