Calgary police have charged three individuals and seized approximately $1.3 million worth of drugs, disrupting a suspected trafficking operation in the city.

The investigation began in October 2024 when officers identified activity consistent with drug trafficking. The District 4 Operations Team launched a probe, pinpointing multiple residences and vehicles tied to the suspects.

Search warrants were executed on Nov. 21, at three residences and three vehicles:

  • A residence in the 1400 block of First Str. S.E.

  • A residence in the 1200 block of 11 Ave. S.W.

  • A residence in the 900 block of 31 Ave. N.W.

  • A black 2018 Acura ILX

  • A black 2016 Mercedes Benz CLS 550

  • A white 2015 Mercedes Benz ML 63 AMG

The searches uncovered a substantial cache of drugs, including:

  • 13 kilograms of suspected cocaine

  • 268 grams of suspected methamphetamine

  • 150 grams of suspected crack cocaine

  • 26 grams of suspected fentanyl

  • Drug production equipment, including packaging, cookware, scales, and dye

Following the operation, three suspects were charged:

  • Leslie Babajid Cole, 33, is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and four counts of failing to comply with a release order. He will appear in court on Jan. 15.

  • Ahmed Merhi Chehadi, 32, is charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and 11 counts of failing to comply with a release order. He will appear in court on Jan. 10.

  • Tracy Leanne Suffesick, 40, is charged with one count of trafficking a controlled substance, three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and two counts of possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order. She will also appear in court on Jan. 10.

“Our officers located and seized a significant quantity of drugs during this investigation,” said Staff Sgt. Keith Shufelt of the District 4 General Investigations Unit.

“These are extremely dangerous substances that were removed from the community and thanks to the work of our officers in the District 4 Operations Team, those who were believed to be trafficking drugs have been held accountable for their actions.”
