The political commentator-turned-Conservative candidate will now be heading to Ottawa after years of covering the big issues facing Canada via his documentaries.
Elsewhere in the province, now-former NDP leader Jagmeet Singh was defeated in his riding of Burnaby Central, coming in third behind Liberal Wade Chang, and Conservative James Yan.
Green Party leader Elizabeth May, meanwhile, held on to her seat in Saanich-Gulf Islands with a sizeable lead over her Liberal and Conservative opponents. She is currently the only Green candidate projected to be elected in the country.
Over in Abbotsford-South Langley, where Independent Mike de Jong was predicted to split the centre-right vote, Conservative candidate Sukhman Gill came out on top by over 4,000 votes.
