Western Standard News Services

Four people from Maskwacis are dead following a head-on collision late Saturday night on Hwy. 2A near TR 434.

Ponoka RCMP responded to the crash at 10:53 p.m. on, where they found a GMC Acadia and a Volkswagen Tiguan severely damaged.

The sole occupant of the Acadia, a 41-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Inside the Tiguan, two males — aged 26 and 14 — were also found deceased. A second 14-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital by STARS but later died from his injuries.

Preliminary findings suggest the Acadia was attempting to pass other vehicles when it collided head-on with the oncoming Tiguan.
