Police in Langley have "save[d] Christmas" by busting thieves after they allegedly broke into a family's home and made off with wrapped gifts.
The suspects were found a short time later, and the presents were returned to their rightful place.
According to the Langley RCMP, the incident took place in the early hours of December 22 on the 26500 block of 28A Avenue. Officers responded to calls that Christmas presents had gone missing, and managed to apprehend those believed to be responsible.
"The story of the Grinch Who Stole Christmas had tragically become a reality for this family," Cpl. Zynal Sharoom said. "Therefore we employed several investigative techniques which enabled us to track the thieves down. The tireless efforts of our front-line officers resulted in the recovery of the stolen presents. We rewrapped the presents and returned them to the family to restore the joy of the holiday season."
The identities of the suspects were not released, nor was it revealed which charges they will face. The investigation is ongoing, and Langley RCMP have asked anyone with information to contact them referencing file number 2024-41544.
