A man has been arrested after being caught brandishing a homemade weapon at a fast food joint in downtown Vancouver.

The identity of the 34-year-old suspect was not made public, nor was the name of the restaurant.

According to the Vancouver Police Department, the incident took place on Wednesday morning shortly before 9 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, the suspect was "seen behaving erratically and allegedly assaulted another customer." The VPD noted that "nobody was injured."

The weapon in question appeared to be a stick with two long knives duct taped to the top to create a right angle.

Police went on to apprehend the suspect, who, it was later revealed, had an outstanding arrest warrant from Winnipeg. He is currently being held in custody and faces charges, though the details have not been released.
