The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has identified the victim of a Langley homicide from September 2023 as 36-year-old Michael Kashani.

Kashani’s remains were discovered on September 22 after Langley City Fire Rescue Service responded to a bush fire at Nicomekl Park near 5281 208th St.

The discovery prompted an investigation by Langley RCMP and IHIT, who deemed the death suspicious.

“Mr. Kashani was 36 years old at the time, and his death has left a void in his family and community,” said Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT.

“We believe someone out there may have information about Mr. Kashani’s death, and we are interested in speaking with them.”

IHIT continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Kashani’s death and urges anyone with information to come forward.
