SCHEER DEVASTATION: Former Conservative leader trolls Freeland on social media

She announced the support of disgraced Edmonton Liberal MP Randy Boissonnault

Conservative MP Andrew Scheer just delivered a right hook to the campaign of Liberal Party of Canada leadership hopeful Chrystia Freeland.

"Well, that's two votes right there," he wrote on social media in response to Freeland announcing that she has the support of disgraced Edmonton Liberal MP Randy Boissonnault — known by some as "The Two Randys."

Boissonnault was embroiled in a scandal involving his business dealings with Global Health Imports (GHI), a company he co-founded. The controversy centered around text messages where someone named "Randy" was mentioned in discussions about business operations, including securing contracts and wire transfers, while Boissonnault was a sitting cabinet minister.

This raised concerns about potential violations of conflict of interest laws, as ministers are prohibited from managing or operating businesses while in office.

The term "the other Randy" emerged as Boissonnault and his former business partner, Stephen Anderson, claimed the "Randy" referred to in these texts was not Boissonnault but another employee at GHI.

However, Anderson later admitted to lying about the existence of another Randy.

Recent polls, including those from Leger, indicate Mark Carney leads Freeland significantly in public preference for replacing Justin Trudeau as Liberal leader.

Carney leads by 40 points in some surveys, with 34% of all respondents favouring him compared to 14% for Freeland. Even among Liberal supporters, Carney has a substantial lead with 57% support against Freeland's 17%.
