STICK 'EM UP: Busy bank robber strikes three times in 30 minutes in northeast Calgary

Police are investigating a series of bank robberies that took place within a half-hour span in northeast Calgary on Monday afternoon, with investigators believing the same suspect is responsible for all three incidents.

The first robbery occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Monday, when a man entered the Royal Bank of Canada at 5445 Falsbridge Dr. N.E. He threatened employees by claiming he was armed, walked behind the counter, and took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing. No weapon was seen, and no injuries were reported.

About 25 minutes later, at 12:55 p.m., the same suspect is believed to have entered the ATB Financial branch at 50 Saddletown Cir. N.E. He again approached a teller and made threats but was unsuccessful in obtaining money before leaving the scene.

Minutes later, at 1 p.m., the man entered the CIBC branch at 62 Saddletown Cir. N.E. He walked behind the counter, demanded money from employees, and made off with another undisclosed sum. No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.

The suspect is described as a fair-complexioned man between 20 and 30 years old, standing between 5-ft., 10-ins. and 6-ft. 1 in. He was last seen wearing black gloves, black pants, and a dark-grey hoodie, with his face covered.

Police continue to gather evidence, review surveillance footage, and speak with witnesses.
