Teens charged after deadly altercation at MacEwan LRT Station kills 13-year-old boy

A 13-year-old boy who was found dead at the MacEwan LRT station on Wednesday was killed by a stab wound, the Edmonton Medical Examiner confirmed Friday.

The death has been ruled a homicide.

Police say the deceased was among a group of four youths and one adult who allegedly assaulted a 34-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman at the downtown station.

The victims and the group were not known to each other.

Following the incident, three youths — a 15-year-old girl, a 14-year-old girl, and a 14-year-old boy — along with 18-year-old Destynd Jackson, were charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Homicide detectives continue to investigate.
