WATCH: Poilievre draws a massive crowd in Liberal stronghold of Toronto

Thousands of enthusiastic supporters turned out for Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre in Vaughan, ON, Tuesday night.

The mood of the crowd was not dampened by the dozen or so anti-Israel protesters that gathered at the entrance of the venue, shouting accusations that the Conservative leader is complicit in genocide by supporting Israel — even though the Tories have not been in power for 10 years.

After an uproarious rendition of O Canada — with the original lyrics — Ana Poilievre introduced her husband, who received a hero’s welcome as he mounted the platform.

Poilievre periodically paused his rally to interact with the crowd, including a little girl named Trinity, her mother, and a high-rise construction worker. He also stopped his speech to address concerns from a woman who was upset about rampant drug use on public streets and the lack of support from the current Liberal government.

He also referenced a recent report from the Privy Council that warned that in 15 years, Canada will be in dire straits. The federal research shows Canadians could be forced to “hunt, fish and forage” in public lands and waterways due to the staggering rise in the cost of groceries.
