WATCH: Poilievre wants violent criminals deported

Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre said he doesn’t want to see imported violent criminal activity on Canadian streets anymore, and called for immediate deportation.

Speaking Monday afternoon at an event commemorating International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Poilievre praised the people of Israel for worshipping the same God and living on the same land as they did 3,000 years ago.

“That doesn’t mean it was without difficulty. We had all hoped we had left the ugly authoritarian socialist ideologies of fascism and communism behind, but they came roaring back with extreme and radical movements,” said Poilievre.

“New threats emanating from Iran metastasized and exploded back into the forefront on October 7. An unprovoked attack that was deliberately designed to carry out the maximum amount of cruelty against the most innocent people.”

“October 7 was the biggest massacre of Jews since the holocaust,” said the Tory leader, pivoting to the rise in violence on Canadian streets since the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel.

“We see on our own streets antisemitism guided by obscene woke ideologies that have led to an explosion of hate crimes," said Poilievre.

"Hate crimes were up 100% in Canada before October 7. Now, they’re up 251% with Jews being the principal victims of those crimes."

“We must not just condemn these things — we must take action against them."

"We must deport from our country any temporary resident that is here on a permit or a visa that is carrying out violence or hate crimes on our soil.”
