Four teenagers from Regina are facing attempted murder charges after a violent knife attack on Monday left two people hospitalized.
The attack happened around 6:20 pm CST, when the Regina Police Service (RPS) rushed to the 2900 block of Gordon Rd. following reports of a stabbing.
Officers found two victims with serious knife wounds.
Paramedics rushed both to the hospital, where they were treated for injuries police described as significant but not life-threatening.
A witness at the scene helped RPS officers track down the four suspects.
The group includes a 16-year-old, two 15-year-olds, and a 14-year-old.
All four are jointly charged with two counts of attempted murder.
The 14-year-old faces an additional charge of breaking a previous court order.
The 16-year-old is accused of multiple breaches, including ignoring conditions of a release order and failing to comply with earlier sentencing terms.
The teens appeared in Youth Provincial Court on Tuesday for their first hearing.
RPS have not disclosed a possible motive or the relationship between the victims and suspects.
Under Canada’s Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identities of young offenders cannot be released to focus on rehabilitation rather than punishment.
Investigators say the case remains open.
This incident is Regina’s first high-profile youth-related violent crime this year.
No future court dates have been announced.
