Two Regina Police cars collide

Christopher Oldcorn

Regina Police Service (RPS) said it is investigating after two marked patrol vehicles collided near the intersection of Second Avenue North and Royal Street.

RPS confirmed that both officers were responding to an in-progress call when their vehicles struck each other.

The officers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the scene by Emergency Medical Services.

According to RPS, the investigators would examine this two vehicle crash as if it were any other motor vehicle accident.

However, because RPS vehicles were involved, the incident will receive additional scrutiny.

A supervisor will review the findings, followed by an assessment by the RPS Collision Review Board.

The crash happened at about 9:20 am on January 16.

No further details were available at press time.
