A former Vancouver church counsellor has been convicted of multiple counts of sexual assault — including children — spanning decades..Now in his late 70s, Coquitlam-based Raymond Gaglardi appeared before a BC Supreme Court Judge Monday, and newly-posted court records confirm he's been found guilty of 11 counts total..Gaglardi was first charged in 2019 following allegations of sexual abuse made by 14 people, most of whom came to know him through his association with two churches, and some of whom were underage when the abuse occurred..The youngest victim was 10-to-11-years-old at the time of abuse. All Gaglardi's victims were male..One set of charges were set forth in relation to those Gaglardi came to know during his time working as a counsellor at Vancouver’s Glad Tidings Temple from 1969 to 1983. The second set is in relation to the victims he met at Hillside Community Church in Coquitlam, where he began volunteering after 1983 and continued attending as a congregant until recently..Of the offences he’s been convicted of, some occurred at Gaglardi’s old office at Glad Tidings, where, to name but one example, he conducted a nude examination of a 12-year-old boy, including the child's genitals..He was also charged and subsequently convicted for checking an underage boy’s genitals for venereal disease on two occasions at the same office..Other offences occurred at Gaglardi’s residence, where the Crown prosecutor said he “used some kind of electrical device” to touch or stimulate an underage boy’s genitals to “measure electrical flow.” The Crown also said he touched the same boy’s genitals during a bath at Gaglardi’s home..Gaglardi was also found guilty of sexual assault for conducting an "experiment" on body scents, during which he inappropriately touched a victim's genitals, swabbing for a "sample." He also gave the victim a coffee enema in his basement as "part of a cleansing treatment.".The heinous list of detailed convictions goes on, totalling 11..He’ll return to court for a pre-sentence report in December
