A 22-year-old woman is dead after falling from a slackline at Chek Canyon Recreation Area near Squamish.Squamish RCMP say the woman fell about 12:30 pm PST on May 16 while balancing on the webbing at the base of the canyon, a popular spot for climbers and slackliners north of Vancouver.The steep terrain forced crews from Squamish Search and Rescue to rappel in to reach her. .Paramedics confirmed she had died at the scene.The B.C. Coroners Service is investigating the fatality, and the woman’s name has not been released. Victim services workers were on hand to help witnesses and anyone affected by the incident.
