Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who resigned pending a Liberal leadership vote, continues to jet-set at taxpayer expense.

Trudeau attended the closing ceremony of the 2025 Invictus Games in Vancouver on Sunday, where he gave a speech, highlighting the unity and resilience of athletes.

Flying on a wide-body government aircraft, he would've burned tens of thousands of litres of jet fuel for the round trip. On a smaller Bombardier Challenger jet, around 10,000 litres of fuel would've been consumed.

"There's a sense that affordability is in direct contrast with our moral responsibility to protect the planet," said Trudeau in 2024.

"And that is something that unfortunately people have been amplified and used propaganda, misinformation, disinformation, and flat out lies to scare people into saying, oh, no, no, no. We’ve gotta take care of our household budget and bottom line first and environment second."

Trudeau was flanked by Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, who founded the Invictus Games. Trudeau spoke to athletes from Ukraine, Afghanistan, and the United States, expressing solidarity and gratitude.

“I know my American friends, you’ve been reminded this past week that your Canadian friends and every other competitor in this place is just as proud to fight for their flags as you are to fight for yours, the Stars and Stripes,” said Trudeau, addressing the U.S. team reported Canadian Press.

During the event, Trudeau and Prince Harry watched the indoor rowing finals together, engaging with fans.

Trudeau recently flew to Europe to attend the Aga Khan's funeral in Portugal and an AI summit in France. Some viewed the trip as a farewell tour.
