U.S. Vice President–Elect JD Vance is calling out anti–Christian bigotry in Canada.Around 110 Canadian churches have been vandalized or burned down since 2021. Some speculate the crimes against Christians are a response the announcement of alleged mass graves at the former Kamloops Residential School site.At the time, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the burnings must stop."Canada has seen a number of church burnings in recent years thanks to anti–Christian bigotry," wrote Vance on social media."All over the world, Christians are the most persecuted religious group."Vance said Conservative MP Jamil Jivani (Durham) is right to call–out growing threats to Christians in Canada. Jivani launched the "Protect Christians Canada" program — with a petition — that urges government to take greater steps to protect Christians."I'm sounding the alarm," said Jivani. "We must protect Christians in Canada from governments and corporations abusing their power in our country, and from anti–Christian bigotry.""Jamil is speaking the truth," said Vance. "Shame on journalists who refuse to see what's obvious."Vance and Jivani were roommate in university. The "woke silence" over Canadian church burnings is deafening, wrote The Macdonald–Laurier Institute in March."As the investigations into the attacks continue, one thing is clear – woke Canadians have been extremely reluctant to condemn the crimes," wrote the Institute."And that’s especially tragic since many of the targeted churches served non–white parishes. The first two churches burned in June 2021 served First Nations communities in BC, and since then, Filipino, Copts, and other multicultural Christian communities have seen their places of worship charred or defaced.
