Liberal Leader Mark Carney is being sworn in as Canada’s next prime minister, promising a fresh approach to governance. 

The ceremony at Rideau Hall includes dignitaries, family, and close supporters. 

After taking the oath to become the next prime minister, Carney will introduce his smaller cabinet to focus on the global trade war. 

Carney is expected to call a spring election.

On Thursday evening, Justin Trudeau left the Prime Minister's Office for the final time.
