The Red Cross is finalizing a potential deal to save Israeli hostages captured by Hamas, with Qatari mediation playing a critical role. I24News reported Monday the Red Cross is on its way to receive a group of about 50 people with dual citizenship. Sources said the hostages’ transfer will take place in the Khan Yunis area in the south of the Gaza Strip. Should no obstacles emerge, a deal is anticipated to be reached in the hours ahead. Israel will not be an official party in negotiations for the release of the hostages with dual citizenship. As part of the understandings and to allow Red Cross personnel to reach the area safely, the sources said there have been no Israeli airstrikes on Gaza during recent hours. An Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson named Canada in a list of nationalities of hostages who have been taken by Hamas on October 11.
