Hamas returned four bodies — including a mother and her two children — to Israel on Thursday, marking the first time the terrorist group has surrendered captives who died since a ceasefire took effect last month.

The handover sparked international outrage over claims of cruelty and calls for retaliation.

Channel 14 reported that President Donald Trump condemned Hamas actions and told his advisors, “I want to see Gaza wiped out. I don’t want to see even one building standing.”

The White House has not yet commented on Trump’s alleged remarks.

Canadian journalist Dahlia Kurtz accused Gazans of glorifying violence in a social media post following the repatriation.

“Gazans love death so much they are celebrating it,” tweeted Kurtz.

“It wasn’t enough for citizens of Gaza to go into Israel and rape, lynch, and pillage the victims on 7/10. They had to parade coffins of babies to a backdrop of a joyous spectacle. They needed to celebrate murdering babies.”

President Isaac Herzog wrote on Twitter/X that “there are no words” to describe Israel’s sorrow.

“The hearts of an entire nation lie in tatters,” said Herzog, calling on the four victims to forgive Israel “for not bringing you home safely.”

Hamas claimed the bodies include Shiri Bibas, 33, and her two young sons, Kfir and Ariel, along with Oded Lifschitz, 84, a retired journalist and peace activist.

Israel has yet to confirm their identities, pending forensic tests at the Abu Kabir Institute in Jaffa.

Many citizens lined the streets with Israeli flags and yellow hostage symbols as a police convoy escorted the coffins to Tel Aviv.

Six living hostages are due for release on Saturday under a deal that has already swapped dozens of captives for over 1,000 Palestinian prisoners.

Hamas has previously alleged that Shiri Bibas and her sons died in an Israeli airstrike but provided no evidence.

Israeli officials have not confirmed the claim.

The Bibas family’s ordeal began on October 7 when Hamas fighters stormed southern Israel, killing roughly 1,200 people and capturing 251 hostages.

Yarden Bibas, the children’s father, was freed on February 1 in an exchange.

Lifschitz was abducted with his wife, Yocheved, who was released weeks later. He was reportedly held by Islamic Jihad until his death.

Talks to free the remaining hostages and end the conflict remain stalled.

As Israel mourns, families brace for the likelihood that many missing loved ones may never return.
