Wikipedia favours left-wing news outlets, blacklists conservatives

A new report claims Wikipedia has blacklisted all major conservative U.S. media outlets while continuing to use left-wing news outlets, raising concerns about potential political bias on the world's fourth most visited website.

Media Research Center (MRC) found that the online encyclopedia classifies 100% of prominent right-leaning outlets as "generally unreliable." 

These “generally unreliable” publications include Breitbart, Newsmax, The Daily Caller, and One America News Network. 

In contrast, only 16% of left-wing sources face similar restrictions.

"Wikipedia has now become the joke," said Dan Schneider, Vice President of MRC.

"Its radical editors and staff reveal their contempt for conservatives in almost everything they inject into descriptions."

The controversy has drawn criticism from prominent figures, including Elon Musk, who recently offered $1 billion to rename the site "Dickipedia" until "balance is restored." 

Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales responded that Musk's dissatisfaction stemmed from the site not being for sale.

New York Post's editorial board has called for tech companies to block Wikipedia until it addresses alleged censorship concerns, arguing that for the platform, "'true' is now synonymous with 'left-wing.'"

Wikipedia, which relies on volunteer editors to determine source reliability, has not officially responded to the allegations.
