Manitoba government has unveiled a new advertising campaign “Support Manitoba. Buy Local” aimed at encouraging Manitobans to shop locally and strengthen the province’s economy.
Premier Wab Kinew and Business, Mining, Trade, and Job Creation Minister Jamie Moses pitched the new campaign.
“Manitobans are united in their resolve to support each other, and how we as consumers choose to spend our money can make a big impact,” Kinew said.
“These past few weeks have made it clear that we need to diversify our economy and trading partners, and buying Manitoban or Canadian will help create strong businesses and jobs here in Manitoba.”
The campaign, which launched today on digital platforms, will soon expand to billboards and radio. A key feature of the initiative is a new website designed to connect Manitobans with locally made and Canadian-made products and businesses.
Minister Moses highlighted the province’s entrepreneurial spirit and the quality of Manitoba-made goods.
“We have incredibly innovative entrepreneurs in Manitoba who create world-class products and food that is enjoyed here at home and across our country,” Moses said.
“This campaign will help highlight how Manitobans can connect with Manitoban businesses, products, and services as we move to make our economy more resilient to uncertainty posed by tariffs.”
The initiative comes amid ongoing economic shifts, with the province aiming to reinforce its economic base by fostering local business growth and encouraging consumers to invest in Manitoba’s future.
