Pierre Barns, a father from Abbotsford, B.C., is alerting trustees across Canada about books he finds inappropriate and is urging them to be removed from school library shelves..The married father of four says his inquiries began after his daughter brought home a book from public school that concerned him. After further inquiries, he asked the school board to remove six books from their libraries. They complied regarding three: The Quick and Easy Guide to Queer and Trans Identities, The Quick and Easy Guide to They/Them Pronouns, and The Gender Book..The value assessor for construction projects made an internet search at library holdings in other schools. He did not like what he found..“I started to research all across Canada. When I started reading the books, I realized that it was very much worse than what I thought,” Barns told Western Standard..The school library books depict homosexual and heterosexual sex, oral sex, anal sex, and masturbation — some in elementary school libraries. Others had excessive profanity..Barns posts his findings at exposingsogi123.com and his Facebook page. He emails trustees about books that concern him, but not all share his concern. .“It's a mix. I got replies that said, ‘Thank you for showing me this material.’ I got some replies of trustees that agree this is sexually explicit material. And I got replies from trustees [who] think we're ridiculous human beings,” Barns said..Barns provided a June email exchange with the Halton School District in Ontario that included screenshots of books in their schools which either illustrated sex or had excessive profanity. They include It’s Perfectly Normal, Sex is a Funny Word, Fun Home, All Boys Aren’t Blue, A Quick & Easy Guide to Queer & Trans Identities, Rick, the Hate You Give Me, and The Glass Castle..One board member made a “reply all” to Barns that included fellow trustees and the superintendent..“I am concerned. This individual has included links to publications and videos which may actually contain illegal content.".“I'm not sure how to investigate the content of the email safely. Would you please advise us whether or not this person ought to be reported to police? Is there some action we should take?”.Despite being so graphic the trustee was unsure the content was even legal, each book remained in one or more Halton District school libraries as the school year began. Barns says he has to keep trying..“I actually bcc the police every time I send an email. The point I'm using too, is I have a duty as a citizen to report abuse and just the thought there could be an abuse is enough to report it. So, they can’t really come back to me and tell me I should not do this.”.Barns posted a database he collected of 2,000 teacher sexual misconduct cases since 1998 in Alberta, Nova Scotia, and Ontario — the only provinces which make records available. .“I think we have a big problem in Canada, a systemic problem of abuse. We keep talking about systemic racism and all this which is just complete bullshit in my opinion. But in schools, it's sexual abuse. We allowed that,” Barns said..“They have been able to groom the population to a certain degree to accept this stuff by exposing people to all these sexualities and all this pornography. We stopped protecting our kids against this because we thought this was normal.”.The francophone, born in Laval and raised in northern Quebec, says passion for his cause changed his personality..“I'm a very quiet person that likes to do his work and doesn't like to talk with people. But that has just faded the last three months. They’re possessed by an ideology, but they don't get it. That’s why I look good when I talk to them because they're dumb. Barns hopes concerned parents and citizens will get engaged in his home province and across Canada..“We need to change the members of the board and we need to remove those Marxists that are running school boards and the woke leftists. The school system needs to be controlled by traditional conservative values. We need to switch it.”
