Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath announced she has caught COVID-19. .“Like many others in this pandemic, this morning I tested positive for COVID-19,” said Horwath in a Thursday tweet. .“We’re doing our best to keep everyone safe.” .Horwath said she had been looking forward to meeting people in northern Ontario. She added that the Ontario NDP will be making adjustments to future events, but she will continue to connect with people however she can. .The NDP said it had contingency plans ready for situations such as this one. .“So many people have had to make adjustments to their lives throughout this pandemic, and so will our campaign,” said the NDP. .“We’ll be able to pivot to Zoom events, as well as tapping into the strength of our amazing, diverse candidate team.” .Ontario Liberal Leader Steven Del Duca expressed his condolences to Horwath. .“Wishing you a speedy recovery, Andrea,” said Del Duca. .“Take good care!”.This announcement comes after Ontario Green Leader Mike Schreiner tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday. .“I'm fully vaccinated and am feeling fine,” said Schreiner. .“As public health advises, I will self-isolate for a few days and will continue campaigning remotely from home.”.All four party leaders were around each other at the latest election debate on Monday. .This debate was organized by the Broadcast Consortium.
