The original offer, $2 "Trudeau Resignation Special" burgers, was displayed on the sign outside the eatery almost immediately after the prime minister made his announcement.

It was met with mixed reactions online, with many on both sides taking to Google Maps to leave reviews expressing their thoughts.

Quite a few left one-star reviews without providing any further details, suggesting they were ganging up on the location to drop its overall rating.

Those who left five-star reviews, on the other hand, added comments such as, "My favourite new DQ!" and, "Not enough stars for this store. Manager is a stand up citizen. We need more then them."
