A Trail and Greater District BC RCMP officer received a phone call from a 27-year-old Trail man who saw a person wearing military-issued camouflage pants in the downtown area on Friday. .“Our officers did look for the man reportedly wearing the camouflage pants downtown, but unsurprisingly couldn’t find him,” said Trail and Greater District RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich in a press release. .The RCMP said the caller was offended on behalf of the Canadian military, as he believed people were barred from wearing camouflage pants. .The officer informed the man the removal of a person’s pants would be illegal, even if they were camouflaged. The man said he would remove the pants under order of the King of England. .While the man wanted to, the officer dissuaded him from taking action after explaining to him it would constitute an assault if he removed the pants, despite any royal edicts that might exist.
